Moving forward by journeying back
Our lives are so much "our lives" that sometimes we need to step back so that we can really see where we are in our journey; we need to zoom out.
At times like these, looking back and remembering the person that we were earlier in our journey can help us to track our steps, see our growth, remember the lessons that we've already learned, and spot areas that we keep tripping over.
It's important to journey back with kindness towards ourselves, without judgement, guilt or shame. Taking ourselves by the hand, as a dear friend would. Keeping in mind that we have lived this already, we are just looking back to learn so that we can move forward, not to re-live things.
